It is the Story of the CAVE RESCUE

Jeri Jacquin

Coming to DVD from director Tom Waller, Grindstone and Lionsgate comes the story of danger, courage and hope with CAVE RESCUE.

In June 2018, a local soccer team, Wild Boars, and their coach in northern Thailand decided to go to the Tham Luang Nang Non (Mountain of the Sleeping Lady) cave as a reward for their hard work during practice. What the twelve boys from ages 11 to 16, and their 25-year-old coach did not know is that heavy rainfall came while in the cave and trapped their way out.

When a park ranger sees the kids bikes up against the rails leading to the cave, an all-out alert is made. The water and current kept anyone from discovering if the boys were trapped in a pocket or swept away. For two weeks no one knew anything!

Cave rescuers come from all around the world and one such diver is Jim Warny as the diver’s break through and find the boys 1.6 mile from the opening of the cave where they entered. Once the moment of joy has passed, now the serious work begins. As the floodwaters continue, they water has to be pumped out if the divers are to get through.

The monsoon season arrives and more rain so a plan is put in place that includes sedating the boys so they can be brought out panic free. In the process, Officer Saman Kunan lost his life but, on July 10th – the impossible became possible as all the boys and their coach are recovered.

Cast include Erik Brown as Erik, Lawrence de Stefano as Chris, Nopadol Niyomka as Pooyai Tun, Eoin O’Brien as USAF Sgt. O’Brien, Mikko Paasi as Mikko, Todd Ruiz as Todd, Vesse Saastamoinen as PaCOM Petty Officer, Jumpa Saenprom as Mae Bua, Nirut Sirichanya as Tourism Minister.

Lionsgate is a global leader in motion picture production and distribution for theatres, television, home entertainment and more. Theatre franchises include THE HUNGER GAMES, and DIVERGENT along with JOHN WICK. Now, adding this film to its 16,000-motion picture and television titles you can see everything coming soon as well as available now at http://www.lionsgate.com.

A little more information about those few weeks is that over 10,000 people were involved in the rescue. There were 100 divers and rescue workers, 100 government agencies, 900 police officers and 2,000 soldiers, 10 helicopters, seven ambulances, 700 diving cylinders with a pumping of over one billion liters of water from the cave.

CAVE RESUCE is a story of bravery by those who went into the caves not knowing what they would find or what the plan was to get the boys out. They went in because it was the right thing to do! The danger came when realizing the only thing they could do was sedate the boys and put them in such a position so that if they did wake up, they would not hurt themselves or the person trying to rescue them.

That is where hope comes in. The boys waited patiently for someone to find them, and hope kept them going when it came time to do the scariest thing they could imagine. Going 1.6 miles took hours as it was a slow-moving process pushing through tight places and heavy current.

The film shows what it took to bring such an operation together but also showed how the people of Thailand from all walks of live wanted to help in any way they could. The whole event was frightening yet, everyone focused and took it step by step to do what many said was impossible.

In the end – you read the headlines now live the adventure!

Rescuing Us All is the Charming MY SWEET MONSTER

Jeri Jacquin

Coming to DVD from directors Viktor Blukhushin, Maksim Volkov, Grindstone and Lionsgate is the animated story of a wild adventure for MY SWEET MONSTER.

Princess Barbara (Haylie Duff) is growing up in a palace with a father who does not seem to want her to grow up. As the castle prepares for her birthday, the princess can be found in the clock tower waiting for a letter from her prince. When her father discovers that she is reading romance novels, he seals up the room and tells her to ready herself for the party.

But the princess has been waiting patiently for a letter from Prince Edward who has been writing her. Weasel (Pauly Shore), the local postal clerk, decides to deliver a letter but he has a weasel-ish plan of his own for the princess. The King is not happy when he reads the letter where Prince Edward professes his love for the princess.

When Weasel finds something in the palace that could ruin everything, he makes a deal with the King, a deal that the Princess is not going to stand for. Calling her trusted steed Fireball, she takes off for the woods with Weasel not far behind. Thinking he finally has the princess, Weasel could never have expected a talking rabbit and a very large, well, monster name Bogey.

As Weasel returns to the palace, he wants to know what the blue liquid is that he is bribing the King with, and the story unfolds about a mystical place in the kingdom where he got ‘the spark’. Back in the forest, the Princess and Bogey get to know one another even though it is a rough relationship. Bogey explains that it is not the King who owns the land, but it in fact belongs to Mother Nature.

Discovering the truth about her father and who she is, the princess asks Bogey for help as Weasel uses the spark to try and create destruction taking over the palace. He only wants one thing, to be all powerful and get the princess back.

The rabbit tells the princess the story of Bogey and how he came to be with the help of Mother Nature and the truth of why rabbit can speak. Now that she knows the story, it is just in time as Weasel sends out his metal arm to wreak havoc over the kingdom. As the Princess looks for help from Prince Edward, she is shocked to discover that their kingdom is not the only place where deceit lives.

Now, the Princess, Bogey, and Rabbit must come to terms with the choices that have to be made to save them all!

MY SWEET MONSTER is a charming and very colorful film for the entire family. It is a story of friendship, love, loyalty, secrets, and learning not to judge a book by its cover. There is music and song which gives the story even more charm. It is the characters that are intriguing and even delightful as each of their stories are told.

When evil and deception try to ruin a family, kingdom and friendships, it is loyalty and love that bring the best dreams alive! This is a chance to plan a family night and gather around the big screen for an adventure that will take us all away.

In the end – it is Cutie and the Beast!

It all comes in a FLASHBACK on Bluray

Jeri Jacquin

Coming to Bluray from writer/director Christopher MacBride, Grindstone and Lionsgate comes a story of a world in FLASHBACK.

Fredrick Fitzell (Dylan O’Brien) is a hard-working husband to Karen (Hannah Gross). When his mother is taken ill, life begins to take a strange turn. Trying to deal with his emotions, Fred finds himself unable to sleep and returning to something he once loved – drawing. It is also when flashbacks of his childhood begin to happen.

The memory of Cindy (Maika Monroe), Andre (Keir Gilchrist) and Sebastian (Emor Cohen) during high school comes forward. There is something that blocks him, something that is disturbing, and he cannot seem to face. Reconnecting with Sebastian, Fred is not getting many answers, but they find Andre and the conversation turns to Cindy.

Remembering the last time they were together brings bad memories to Andre and Sebastian and want nothing more to do with what ever it is Fred is looking for. That night, each took a drug called Mercury with consequences they could have never imagined. Fred finds himself in the past and the present jumping from a life he once had to the life he is living now.

His work is suffering under the watchful eye of Evelyn (Amanda Brugel) When he finally finds Cindy, his life changes again but this time there is a nagging feeling calling him but to where next? Putting the pieces together he joins Cindy in the memory jumps on Mercury and experiences yet another life but is it all truly enough?

O’Brien as Fred has the unique opportunity to play a character that must see his life from different remembrances and for a time that he thought he wanted. He can not seem to piece together what is happening, what has happened and what is going to happen without anxiety pushing its way into it all. Of course, who would not yet O’Brien follows the leads he feels he is getting. Going from THE MAZE RUNNER to FLASHBACK is definetly a serious change and well done.

Monroe as Cindy disappeared from the group after high school, and she cannot be found by Fred. She is living a life that has kept her secluded with people she trusts yet when Fred crosses her path again, so does their high school relationship. Cohen as Sebastian is somewhat happy to see Fred but not to happy about the topics he keeps bringing up. Gilchrist as Andre has the biggest fear about that last night.

Gross as Karen is trying to keep her husband focused on his work and spending time with his mother, but Fred keeps slipping away. She sees the results of the memories that have come flooding with no idea what is causing them. Brugel as Evelyn has a distinctive look and if she looks familiar, think The Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu because she is awesome!

Other cast include Liisa Repo-Martell as Mrs. Fitzell, Landon Norris as the Scarred Man, Jackie English as Violet, and Aaron Poole as Pierced Man.

The Special Features include Director’s Commentary, Deleted Scenes and Theatrical Trailer.

FLASHBACK is a film that digs deep into a world that is darker and more twisted up than anything a matrix can throw out. It takes one memory to open up a vastness of confusion for Fred and even as he tries to put the pieces together, the roads are narrow and hard to navigate. Following what ever lead comes his way, I was invested and had the same quizzical look on my face as Fred.

When he begins to believe everything that is happening, watching Fred challenge all he has come to believe is something relatable because don’t we all do that? Piecing thing together in our lives to find out what life it is we want against a life we thought we have missed? There are so many ways to see the message that FLASHBACK is trying to bring from politics to reality to choices – endless possibilities. Prepare to be taken on a wild ride.

In the end – in the blink of an eye your life can turn upside down!

Noah (Jude Manley) is a teen spending his time in school and with good friend Bethany (Sophia Alongi). Dad Peter (J.R. Brown) is pretty busy with his tech job but tries to very hard to have time with Noah. A movie night is interrupted with Peter has to go to the lab for an emergency and asks Noah to join him.

Once at the lab while Dad is busy, Noah notices workers taking an odd table through the lab. Curiosity gets the best of him and he discovers a small robot that seems to be discarded. While testing is being doing throughout the lab, Noah decides to take the small robot in his backpack. Well, this is when life gets interesting.

The robot comes to life and is equally curious about Noah. What they both don’t know is that back in the lab, people are looking for their robot and want it back! Dr. Simon (Cait Brasel) along with Director Raddock (Greg Lutz) will stop at nothing to find A.R.I. and bring him back.

While A.R.I. learns from Noah, their friendship grows and as much as the scientists want their robot back, Noah and Bethany discover that there is more to this than a missing robot. Finding Professor Eggy (Bill Jenkins) is the key to saving their A.I. little friend from disaster!

Manley as Noah is a young man who is growing up in the technology world. He understandings A.R.I. and is constantly amazed at what he can do, no more so than A.R.I. himself. Alongi as Bethany is the total teen having a social media following and uses that to help their new friend keep the bad guys away.

Lutz as Raddock is singularly focused on finding A.R.I. but if not – there is always plan B. Brasel as Dr. Simon tried to make A.R.I. work but doesn’t understand why everyone wants him so badly but does do her techno part to find him. Brown as Dad Peter gets a chance to help his son do something amazing. Jenkins as the Professor has his own story to tell about A.R.I. and is thrilled to tell it to Noah and Bethany.

Other cast includes: Kyle Henry as Titan, Jeremy Miller as Todd, Christy Tate as Rita Haley, and Craig Cole as Mr. Stanny.

Lionsgate is a global leader in motion picture production and distribution for theatres, television, home entertainment and more. Theatre franchises include THE HUNGER GAMES, and DIVERGENT along with JOHN WICK. Now, adding this film to its 16,000 motion picture and television titles you can see everything coming soon as well as available now at http://www.lionsgate.com.

THE ADVENTURE OF A.R.I. MY ROBOT FRIEND is a fun family film that also talks about technology and what it is capable of. It also shows the good and bad people who are involved with A.R.I. and what each of their goals really are. That’s important for families to discuss in the sense that technology can be amazing for teaching and entertaining, but kids need to understand the perils that can sometimes happen when not used properly.

That’s where A.R.I. comes in with his friendship with Noah and Bethany. He learns about friendship and what it means to care for someone to the point of doing everything possible to protect them. In turn Noah and Bethany begin to see A.R.I. as so much more than metal and motherboards and it is delightful to see.

So gather the family together and make it a movie night to watch friendship and technology become the best of friends with THE ADVENTURE OF A.R.I. MY ROBOT FRIEND.

In the end – the extraordinary story can begin!
